How we use cookies

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This Cookie Policy is issued by DEKACRANE VİNÇ SİSTEMLERİ İMALATI SAN. VE TİC. LTD. ŞTİ. ("Deka Crane", "we", "us"), the data controller, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR") and the rules on storing information on users' devices under Directive 2002/58/EC (the "ePrivacy Directive").

It explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on our website at dekacrane.com (the "Site"), why they are used, how long they are stored and how you can manage your choices. For all other matters concerning your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.

At a glance

  • Until you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies are used on the Site.
  • Analytics and functional cookies are switched off by default and are activated only with your consent.
  • Rejecting cookies does not prevent you from using the Site.
  • The Site does not use advertising or marketing cookies, social media plug-ins or tracking pixels.
  • You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your browser as you move between pages or when you return.

Other technologies work in a similar way: your browser's local storage and session storage, pixels and tags. In this policy, "cookies" also covers these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.

2. Types of Cookies

2.1. By duration

  • Session cookies: used to keep a session going and deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies: remain after the browser is closed and are deleted automatically on a set date or after a set period.

2.2. By party

  • First-party cookies: set by the website you are visiting, that is, the domain shown in your browser's address bar (dekacrane.com).
  • Third-party cookies: set by a domain other than the one you are visiting (for example google.com).

2.3. By purpose

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the website to work and to provide the service you have requested, including remembering your privacy choice and keeping the website secure. They are not used for marketing.
  • Functional cookies: enable additional features beyond the strictly necessary ones and remember preferences.
  • Performance and analytics cookies: allow statistical measurement of how visitors use the website, in order to improve it.
  • Advertising and marketing cookies: track users' online activity in order to show advertising based on their interests. The Site does not use cookies of this type.

Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, storing information on your device, or accessing information already stored there, requires your consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested or is done solely to carry out the transmission of a communication. The personal data obtained through cookies is processed on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

Cookie categoryPurposeLegal basis
Strictly necessaryRemembering your cookie choice; keeping the Site secure and preventing attacks and abuse.Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website and in documenting your choice. No consent is required.

FunctionalShowing our location on Google Maps on the contact page.Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR: your consent.

Consent is requested separately for each category, after you have been informed by this policy, and by your own active choice. Categories that require consent are switched off by default in the Cookie Preferences panel. Refusing consent does not prevent you from using the Site; only the feature concerned (visit statistics or the map) will not work.

According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

On the Site, Google Analytics is used for statistical purposes only. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and the sending of user data to Google for advertising purposes are switched off.

The map is loaded only on the contact page and only if you allow functional cookies. When the map loads, your IP address and your device and browser information are sent to Google. Google decides which cookies are set and for how long; the information above is based on Google's published cookie information. Google may also process this data for its own purposes (including analytics and advertising) as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

4.4. Advertising and marketing cookies

The Site does not use advertising or marketing cookies.

  • The WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn icons on the Site are plain links; they contain no plug-ins, pixels or tracking code from those platforms. When you follow a link, the platform's own cookie and privacy terms apply.
  • Fonts, icons, the video player and the other components of the Site are loaded from our own server; no connection to third-party servers is made for them.

5. Sharing and International Transfers

Data obtained through cookies is shared with the following service providers, and only for the purposes stated:

  • Google (Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area and Switzerland; Google LLC, USA, for other users): to provide Google Analytics and Google Maps, and only if you consent to the category concerned.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): to keep the Site secure and deliver its content, acting as our infrastructure provider (processor).

These providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Transfers related to Google services take place only if you give your consent; if you do not, these services do not run on the Site and no such transfer takes place. More information on international transfers is given in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.

6. Managing Your Cookie Choices

6.1. The Cookie Preferences panel

On your first visit, a cookie notice is shown at the bottom of the page. It offers "Reject All", "Accept All" and "Manage Preferences" as equally prominent options. In the panel opened by "Manage Preferences" you can switch the analytics and functional categories on or off separately.

To change your choice later, use the "Cookie Preferences" link at the bottom of every page or the button below. The change takes effect immediately, without reloading the page.

6.2. How your choice is stored

  • Your choice and its date are stored on your device for 180 days; after that we ask you again.
  • If the cookie categories or the purposes change, we ask you again.
  • If you clear your browser data, or use another device or browser, we ask you again.

6.3. Browser settings

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Instructions for commonly used browsers are available at the links below:

On mobile devices, cookie settings are found in the settings menu of the browser app you use. If you block all cookies and site data in your browser, your cookie choice cannot be stored either and you will be asked on every visit.

6.4. An additional option for Google Analytics

If you wish to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on all the websites you visit, you can use the browser add-on provided by Google.

7. Withdrawing Consent

You can withdraw the consent you gave to analytics and functional cookies at any time through the Cookie Preferences panel, as easily as you gave it.

  • If you withdraw your consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics stops running and its cookies are deleted from your device.
  • If you withdraw your consent to functional cookies, the map is removed from the Site. Cookies belonging to Google are stored under Google's own domain, so you can only delete them through your browser settings.
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of your consent before the withdrawal.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or erased, to have its processing restricted, to receive it in a portable format, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to withdraw your consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. How to exercise these rights, and how quickly we respond, is explained in section 12 of our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when the cookies used on the Site or the applicable rules change. The current version is published on this page; the date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change affects the cookie categories or their purposes, we ask for your cookie choice again.
